Dharma Center
Friday, 7-9pm Introduction to Yantra Yoga (Open to Everyone) $20
Saturday, 9:30am-noon and 2-4:30pm
Sunday, 8:30-11am and 11:30-1pm
We are very happy to be collaborating with Yoga Springs Studio for the first time to introduce this very
special Yoga practice to the Yellow Springs area.
Yantra Yoga, the Yoga of Movement, (in Tibetan, Nyida Khajor, the Union of Sun and MoonYantra), is one of the oldest
recorded systems of Yoga existing in the world. It has come to us through Tibet, a land full of a vast and
rich traditional Buddhist knowledge and wisdom. This uninterrupted lineage of
Yantra Yoga is a dynamic system of trulkhor (movements) and tsalung
(pranayamas) and differs from more widespread yogas in that it is done as a
sequence of movements coordinated with breathing and specific ways of holding.
This practice helps us to authentically relax and achieve a state of well-being
and harmony, at the same time enhancing physical health, energy, and mental
balance. At a more profound level, it is an important practice to integrate
body, speech and mind in a state that is beyond our normal dualistic concepts.
·
In this introductory course we will cover the
initial special pranayamas or breathing practices and twoof the three series of preliminary practices.
·
Fee for
the entire weekend $125

World Wide Transmission Explanation
About
the World Wide Transmission
Newcomers who want to participate at this
Transmission, should be seriously interested in the Teachings, which are
transmitted by our Teacher Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche and practiced in our
worldwide Dzogchen Community. New participants at this World Wide Transmission
should try to receive Teachings from Chögyal Namkhai Norbu in the future. After
having received this Transmission, they should also try to train and collaborate
with the Sangha of the International Dzogchen Community of Chögyal Namkhai
Norbu.
Originally Rinpoche had this idea of a "Transmission on Distance"
because he wanted to help people in difficult situations who could not travel at
that time to meet the Teacher. The Transmission should enable them to practice
the Dzogchen Teachings transmitted by him without being in his direct physical
presence.
In order to learn the appropriate mantras, mudras, and melodies
correctly, it is important to hear an explanation from a knowledgeable student
of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu well in advance of the event.
